Growing up is not the absence of dreaming

Hate taking photos

Okay, I know I know I know

I had been at that stage of holding my camera up to record every move of Soler. I know I've got a lot of photos of them stored in my computer.

But then I've already shunned that habit of taking photos during shows after discovering that I can actually see much more out of the shows if my vision is not limited to the 2" X 2" (or smaller? I dun really know) digital camera screen. And I know how annoying it is when you have all the light flashed on your face when you're performing.

I'm not a big fan of...well...being in a photo. It's such a strange experience, when you have to hold your smile and wait for the person to click on the camera. And every time when I have to take a passport photo, I'd sit and desparately wait for the cameraman to stop adjusting the angle and lighting and stuff and click on the camera so that I can leave, it's like having an x-ray, it's like going through the metal detectors in the airport for me....nerve-racking.

And so when I saw JA leaving his fans behind to sit on the other side during the saturday kowloon city plaza thingy, I understood how he feels, having all the cameras shooting right at your face. I know it's a part of his job to be photographed, it's inevitable to be photographed by the press, but I guess the fans can at least give him a break, when he actually gets the chance to sit and relax a little, playing with the kid. It's such a huge turn-off when you treat him like an exhibit or an endangered animal and keep clicking your camera. And it's a nuisance when he has already said no, and you, instead of putting your camera away, tried to stand behind him and asked someone else to pretend to take a photo of yourself, and oh, your friend accidentally took JA in the photo as well...you think he doesn't know?

Come on babies, look at his reaction when you're busy taking photos photos and photos of him. He stood right up, quit talking to his bro, and sat on the other side, far far far away from people with a camera. Isn't that just obvious that he want a break from photo-taking?

And though Dino's got a higher threshold of tolerance and sat still, it doesn't mean he wanna be photographed, right? Remember, he said no. He said it and he meant it. So people, just keep your cameras away and talk to him, ok? You'll get so much more if you sit and talk to him, get to know him, and let him know you too.

That's why me and Carrie stood on the 2nd floor. We dun wanna be in the camera hell, and we certainly dun wanna be in this nightmare of seeing our faces in someone else's photos (when we're totally unprepared for being shoot).

And JA, if possible just take a real good rest. You're like, losing your focus in your eyes during the catwalk at the wedding expo yesterday. I know it's not something enjoyable, I mean...to walk in those strange uncomfortable tuxedos...

And hope I didn't hinder your way to the next function by stopping you with the Sufjan Stevens CD at the end.
