Knowles Building, the creepiest building in HKU, the mythological locality of ghost tales of HKU. Here I come, the second encounter with the building.
This morning I went to the Psychology Department on the 6th floor to participate in an experiment. When the doors of the elevator opened, a surge of gloomy and creepy feeling went through my spine. The floor was lighted by dim light from the weird-looking tungsten spotlight. I stepped out of the elevator, the floor was absolutely human-less. It was cold, quiet and...ghostly.
I told myself not to think about the ghost stories I've heard of (indeed I dare not to listen to the full versions, so all I have is just bits and pieces of the myths). I went into the washroom, and when I flipped the door open, I didn't see any mirror. The washroom was strange, it's rectangular with yellow doors and you have to walked past all the water closetsand there you go the mirror. The lighting was so much different from the brightly illuminated washrooms at Library Extension, or the Library, or Meng Wah Complex. It's dim and under such lighting, you feel like, a hand will suddenly slip through the door, or you'll see strange reflections of ghostly objects from the mirror.
Horrified, I ran right out of the washroom and straight to the room where the experiment was supposed to be held. I passed through all the strange Psychology diagrams on the wall about illusions. Several of them feature strange devilish creatures in black and white...I wonder why they have chosen these creepy pictures at the first place.
The experiment went well without any interruption or strange sounds or weird objects or whatever.
I finished the experiment earlier than Fanny did, so I took my time to explore around the floor. My curiosity overpowered my fear since some people were talking in the corridor. I went round the corridors. It felt like a maze. Every room looked the same and that you feel like you're trapped, you're going round and round without knowing where you're heading.
And there it goes. There it goes the famous "Cat pics".
Seniors told me that on this 6th floor, there were three drawings of a cat. The first one is normal, the second one was painted with some variation and the cat gradually turned into a weird-looking monster, and in the third, there was a fierce devilish cat-monster. I was told that long time ago, the painter of these pcitures have gone mad upon finishing them, and a person later on who investigated the pictures in details have turned mad as well.
I walked towards the three picrtures and took a brief look at the first one, the second one...and the third one.
The third one greatly freaked me out. It was painted in orange and red, and the look of the "cat" is demonic, with pointed eyes and a wicked smile. It somehow reminded me of that kind of strange hindu art. I looked at it for a second or two, with nobody around me and the dim light above my head. I looked at the eyes of the "Cat" and suddenly, a kind of intense fear rushed from my stomach to my heart. My eyes turned watery and without pondering into the explanation of the pictiures besides the "Cat", I ran straight away without turning around.
But the strangest thing was, when I calmed down and waited for Fanny, I felt a power lurking me to go back and examine the pictures.
I stood still, resisting the power. Then all of sudden, I remembered yesterday when I was riding on the minibus,
I saw that entrance besides the East gate where ghost stories happened too, the name "Univeristy of Hong Kong" is mistaken as "Vniversity of Hong Kong" and it is never ever changed for some terrible reasons.
And that reminded me of the survey I've filled out for the experiment, one of the question was something like, "Have you ever had supernatural encounter?"
Well.
God bless.
Okay anyway, I'd better think of Soler instead of all these ghostly stuff...I've finally captured images from the Make The Whole World Dance MV, the cutest MV on earth!! Yay!!!
Ahh I just love these two cute guys soooo much!!
